Soundstage

My uncle Derek can’t see, and partly as a result of that listens to a lot of radio.  Apart from Test Match Special, classical music and other learned broadcasts he does enjoy anything to do with natural history.  He put me onto this series, Soundstage, which was expertly put together by Chris Watson, who I worked with at the RSPB Film Unit.  You will hear a lot of Chris’s work on wildlife TV programmes, but he also has created some amazing work outside of TV.  As a wildlife cameraman it is so easy to concentrate only what you can see, and forget the wonderful sound around you.  Of the episodes here I actually enjoyed the most the programme based around Newcastle United’s ground, St. James’s Park – brilliant stuff.

I’m not sure how long these programmes are available online, but here is the link again – Soundstage
