I’m not sure that there is such a thing as a wildlife cameraman job any more in the old fashioned sense of the term. Most wildlife camera people are self employed, or freelance as we usually call ourselves. Like any sought after profession there is a limit of work to go around, but someone has to do it so why not you – that’s a philosophy that works for me anyway.
On Wednesday there is a meeting at the BBC NHU in Bristol (by invitation only unfortunately) where we get to hear about the latest BBC natural history productions, trends in production, demonstration of new equipment and so on. There is a session about integrity in programmer production which will be interesting.
