We were out earlier this week filming red deer at a secret location in the Brecon Beacons. These were very jumpy deer, but we did get to grips with them and got some reasonable shots. It took a long time to get into a decent filming position, but once it was all over we took the straightest route back to the vehicles. When it’s sub zero that might seem like a reasonable plan, but on this occasion the route went through something approximating to 3 foot deep liquid cow shit. I think I said in an earlier blog that a budding wildlife cameraman would enjoy this sort of thing. I retract that a little – there are limits.
